Speaking on the success of the championships and the performances of the future athletes of the British Virgin Islands was President of the BVI Athletics Association Mr. Steve Augustine.
He said the two day event showcased that athletics continues to be heading in the right direction.
“It is clear to say that our grassroots programme in the BVI is and continues to remain strong. You not only had athletes on the track participating over the past few days for the Inter-Primary Schools Track and Field Championships, when you take a closer look at what these athletes were able to do as far as their times and so forth, you’re noticing quite easily that we have athletes out there who are essentially forces to be reckoned with,” he explained.
