The highly anticipated original local play entitled “Resilience: Our Legacy Unchained” is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday this weekend, at the Eileene L Parsons Auditorium at H Lavity Stoutt Community College.
The play is a narrative metaphor for the essence of Virgin Islands culture: resilience. It reimagines Nottingham Estate, Tortola circa the 1770’s and highlights the conditions of that period, as well as its ramifications on the Afro-Caribbean familial unit.
I recently had the pleasure of interviewing the writer of the play Ms Charis Marie-Hoyte as well as the Director and Producer Ms. Via Donovan-Hodge.
Here’s a brief insight on what to expect this weekend.
To ensure you get access to this play which is scheduled for this Saturday and Sunday from 6:21pm, persons can reach out to J&C Trading, Beans Coffee Shop or E&B Convenience story.
