In a recent social media post, The Virgin Islands Softball – Baseball Association paid tribute to avid softball player and businessman Khoy “Mailman” Frett who transitioned on Saturday March 27th, 2022.
The post stated, “The Virgin Islands Softball – Baseball Association and the extended Softball family mourns the loss of another outstanding player Mr Khoy “Mailman” Frett. The “mailman” was profoundly known to deliver a “homerun” whenever his team, The Bluewings, called upon him.
Mailman played with the Bluewings for many years, and he was their faithful outfielder and the team’s motivator. When it came to hitting, “Mailman” had a powerful compact swing that struck fear in many pitcher’s eyes.”
Reflecting on the legacy and contribution of Khoy Frett to the sport of softball, Mr. Walwyn “GM” Brewley shared that the common phrase echoed throughout the park was “the mailman delivers yet another home run on a Sunday afternoon”.
The Virgin Islands Softball – Baseball Association also shared that the “Mailman” won Most Valuable Player in 2009 with the Bluewings at the 2009 BVI Softball Association Banquet. He was selected to represent the British Virgin Islands National Softball Team on many occasions but could not participate due to the management of his business Khoy’s Mailing Service.
Khoy concluded his Softball career with team Power Outage.
The owners, management and staff of CCT, BVI Cable Ltd. and 284 Media express sincere condolences to the family of the late Khoy “Mailman” Frett.
