The British Virgin Islands women’s national football team suffered a 21 goal defeat by Haiti in the CONCACAF Women’s World Cup Qualifier on Saturday April 9.
Playing at the A.O Shirley Recreation Ground in Road Town, Haiti which is presently ranked 61st in the world and 7th in the region saw at least five of their players scoring three goals or more.
Melchie Dumornay, Roselord Borgella, Roseline Eloissant and Mikeline Saintfix all scored a hat-trick of goals while Batcheba Louis netted five of her own.
Britney Peters was the lone star for the BVI team in front of the net.

Following the match, 284News spoke with the President of the BVI Football Association Mr. Andy Bickerton.
He said despite the heavy loss the young BVI team will use the experience gained to assist with their continued development in the sport.
Bickerton also questioned the BVI’s group placement, as they are placed in Group E against other teams such as Cuba, Honduras and Barbados.
284News also caught up with the Deputy Premier and Minister for Sports Dr the Honourable Natalio Wheatley.
He said the territory’s ability to host an international game speaks to the tremendous strides that the BVI Football Association has been making on a developmental level.
Also present at the game was Governor His Excellency John Rankin. He said the BVI team fought with spirit.
Meanwhile in the other games, Mexico remained in first place in Group A after an 11-0 win over Anguilla, Costa Rica got a massive performance from star Forward Raquel Rodriguez, who scored a hat trick to power the Ticas to a 4-0 win against Curacao in Group B.
In Group C, first place Jamaica also enjoyed a high-scoring day in their 9-0 triumph over Cayman Islands while in Group C Laurie Batista was the hero on the day for Panama with a hat trick to help her side march past Aruba 9-0.
Group F saw Trinidad and Tobago taking the lead after posting a 13-0 win versus Turks and Caicos Islands.
