Active COVID-19 cases in the British Virgin Islands are once again over 100 with 93 percent of the total cases on the mainland of Tortola.
This was confirmed in an epidemiological summary from the Ministry of Health dated Thursday April 28.
According to the report, there are now 103 active cases in the BVI, an increase from the 95 that was reported on April 21.
Of that sum, 96 were detected on Tortola and 7 on the sister island of Virgin Gorda.
A further analysis of the data showed that 67 are local cases and 16 contacts of local cases. The remaining 20 were detected during travel screening.
The hospitalisations at the Dr. D Orlando Smith Hospital remains at 4 while the total COVID-19 related deaths stand at 62.
