17 naturalised citizens recently received their British Citizenship which now allows them the ability to freely live, work and vote in the United Kingdom.
They collected their British certificates at the recent ceremony which was held at Government House in Road Town, Tortola.
Registrar General in the Civil Registry and Passport Office Stephanie Benn read the British citizens their new rights.
Speaking on the significance of this step was Governor His Excellency John Rankin who reminded the 17 individuals of the importance of their decision to exercise their right to become British citizens.
Governor Rankin also congratulated each of the recipients, stating that they should capitalize on the new opportunities this milestone presents.
