FORMER PREMIER’S ARREST WILL NOT AFFECT THE BVI’S CRUISE INDUSTRY

Deputy Premier Honourable Kye Rymer is of the opinion that the former premier’s legal entanglements will not negatively impact the territory’s cruise industry.

Rymer made the comment in response to a question posed by the media at last Friday’s press conference as he assured residents that the experience of the cruise guests remains high.

He was part of the delegation which recently travelled to the annual SeaTrade summit in Miami, Florida, which successfully negotiated 417 calls to the territory for the 2022-2023 season.

Also commenting on the possible impacts was Premier the Honourable Dr. Natalio Wheatley.

He said the territory has already moved on from the alleged criminal allegations involving the former Premier Andrew Fahie, pointing to his newly formed Government and other measures taken since the arrest.

Additionally, Premier Wheatley said his Government is serious in making sure the public sees their commitment to good governance and transparency.
