The recent performance by the British Virgin Islands CARIFTA team and star athlete Adaejah Hodge is proof that the BVI can be ranked number in the world one day.
Premier and Minister of Finance Dr. the Honourable Natalio Wheatley made the comment during the Recognition Ceremony which was held to celebrate the overall performance of BVI CARIFTA team at the 49th CARIFTA Games in Jamaica.
Premier Wheatley commended the athletes for their outstanding achievements, adding, that Adaejah has proven that the BVI can be number one in the world someday.
He said that soon she will be recognised as the fastest woman in the world.
Also speaking during the ceremony was Vice President of the BVI Athletics Association Mr. Ralston Henry who called on residents to support the athletes now and not only when the athletes medal.
