Attorney Corine George-Massicote is the new Speaker of the House of Assembly after being sworn in moments ago during the 3rd Sitting of the 4th Session of the 4th House of Assembly.
Her appointment makes her only the third ever female Speaker, following the likes of Vivian Inez Archibald (2003-2007) and Ingrid Moses-Scatliffe (2011-2019).
She thanked all who expressed confidence in selecting her as the new Speaker and assured residents that she will be upholding the strictest of good governance in her new role.
