The Elmore Stoutt High School Redevelopment project has now secured all the monetary resources needed for completion after the National Unity Government passed a Schedule of Additional Provisions (SAP) totaling more than $31 million.
Premier and Minister of Finance Dr. the Honourable Natalio Wheatley made the announcement during Tuesday’s session of the House of Assembly after the SAP underwent a rigorous exercise before being unanimously voted upon and passed.
Premier Wheatley detailed the composition of the funds which were mainly drawn from the Reserve Fund and the Consolidated Fund.
The premier said that with many present challenges that are being faced in the territory, his government was faced with the difficulty of having to decide what respective projects to prioritize.
In listing some of those projects, the Elmore Stoutt High School project and the Jost Van Dyke Primary School project were among the names called.
Premier Wheatley said the healthcare system, the Department of Solid Waste Management and the departments or entities that fall within the scope of the Commission of Inquiry Report recommendations will also benefit from the $31 million Schedule of Additional Provisions.
