Belle Vue resident Akeem Durrant has been charged with the murder of Corey Butler.
The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force gave the confirmation in a media release on Friday which revealed that Durrant has also been slapped with further drug and robbery charges.
The police said, “In addition to murder, Durrant was also charged with robbery and possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply.”
The 35-year-old Durrant is expected to appear before the Magistrate’s Court at the next available sitting.
Corey Butler was wounded in the Scatliffe Alley area around 6:30pm Tuesday evening.
He was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival at the Dr. D. Orlando Smith Hospital.
