It was a night of celebrations as the Valley Sound Lions Club and Leo Club welcomed its new Board of Directors for the 2022/2023 Lionistic year. The Boards were sworn in at the Clubs’ joint annual installation Dinner Ceremony held at, the Top of the Baths Restaurant and Bar on Sunday 26th June 2022. Lion Carvin Malone, PMJF served as installation officer and installed Lion Kimberly George and Leo Allonah Williams respectively, as President of each Club along with their respective Executive Boards.

Additionally, and with great pleasure, the Valley Sound Lions Club inducted two (2) new members, Lions Chanel Pondt and Shawn Gilfford.
President Kimberly was inducted as a member of the Valley Sound Lions Club in June 2013. She has served on the Executive Board of the Club as Membership Director and Secretary. She enjoys working on all Lions International global causes which include, childhood cancer, hunger, diabetes, vision, and environment but enjoys working on initiatives that involve the youth and seniors specifically. On her agenda for the upcoming Lionistic year President Kimberly intends to work with the club to educate, encourage and engage persons in the community on all the global causes and initiatives based on the needs of the community as she continues the legacy of the Valley Sound Lions Club in Virgin Gorda and the wider B.V.I. with Leadership, Inspiration, Outreach and Nobility Service.
Immediate past Lori-Jean Stevens outlined that it was a privilege to lead and expressed her gratitude to the Club for all their support over the previous lionistic year. In her review of the last year, she highlighted some of the Club activities which included a donation to the BVI Cancer Society, sponsoring free mammograms during breast cancer awareness month, welcome back to school initiative and gift boxes to public primary schools on Virgin Gorda, the donation of baskets of love to our seniors and receipt of a District 60B Club Excellence Award.
She further presented Lions with certificates of appreciation. Lions Kimberly George, Grace Flax-Waters, MJF, Shanique Creque, Coralie George and Hakim Creque were all honoured for their outstanding contributions over the past year with Lion Hakim being honoured as the Lion of the Year 2021/2022.
