GUYANESE NATIONAL ESCAPES IMMIGRATION CUSTODY – DEPARTMENT URGE RESIDENTS TO BE ON THE LOOKOUT

Residents across the territory are being asked to be on the lookout for a Guyanese national who escaped the Immigration Department’s temporary detention facility at Hotel Castle Maria.

This was confirmed by the Deputy Chief Immigration Officer, Mrs. Nadia Demming-Hodge in a media release on Monday, which identified the escapee as Ms. Ianna Thomas.

According to the information presented, Thomas reportedly escaped the facility early Monday morning.

“Ms. Thomas remains at large and a search is underway to recapture the detainee. The public is urged to be on the lookout and contact the Immigration Department in the event that Ms. Thomas is sighted,” the Immigration Department stated.

The department is urging anyone who has information on the whereabouts of Ms. Thomas to contact the Immigration Department at 468-4705, 468-4717, 468-4715 or 468-4754 or the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force’s hotline at 311.
