It is very likely that the Constitutional Review Commission will need an additional six months to have their final report ready since the late start to the review process will affect their June/July 2023 original deadline.
Chairperson of the Commission Lisa Penn-Lettsome made the statement in response to a question posed by a resident at the first meeting of the Commission in West End on Wednesday.
She said the late start to the Commission’s process is due to all of the other reviews that were taking place in the territory.
Penn-Lettsome assured the public that the 18-month period will be sufficient time for the Commission to meet with the public and gather all the necessary information needed to have the final report ready.
The Chairwoman also touched on some of the areas which the Commission will be looking into during the review process.
