The Virgin Islands Search and Rescue has changed some minds on the topic of ice skating in the Caribbean over the past three years, with its Winter Wonderland at the Cyril B Romney Tortola Pier Park.
VISAR’s Operations Manager Phil Aspinall notes the activity as a success with scalable potential.
Aspinall noted that the possibility of such a development coming to life depends heavily on the support that VISAR receives from the public. To this end, he envisions a junior ice hockey league for the children of the BVI.
Members of the public are encouraged to visit VISAR’s Winter Wonderland throughout the month of December, from 5 pm daily and try out their hand on the ice.
