Premier and Minister of Finance Dr. the Honourable Natalio Wheatley has said the results from the Congress Election on Sunday, aligns with the Virgin Islands Party’s overall goal to head into this year’s General Election as a united team.
Premier Wheatley was elected Chairman after winning 60 votes to 12 against Territorial-At-Large Representative Hon. Carvin Malone.
Deputy Premier Kye Rymer was elected as the Deputy Chairman of the party.
Premier Wheatley also spoke to the next set of steps that his party will be taking as his team prepares for the election.
Dr. Wheatley said the approach will have to be one that is balanced as his party, which makes up the majority of the existing National Unity Government, still has the country to run up until elections have been declared.
This he said will take a strategic approach to ensure that all the party’s goals are achieved.
