Premier Dr the Honourable Natalio Wheatley shared some insight into what he hopes to accomplish if given the opportunity to continue to serve in this capacity following the upcoming General Election.
Wheatley, who spoke during a recent interview on Tola Radio, said that the vision of the Virgin Islands Party, as it relates to rebounding the Territory’s economy, focuses on making the economy more tourism based and investment driven.
While he acknowledged that the Financial Services industry has served the Territory well, Wheatley says there is still room to improve in that area. He said that it is his hope to offer more services to those consumers and ease the process of doing business in the BVI.
He also noted that, while the Territory has thrived as a sailing destination, there is room to diversify the BVI’s Tourism product.
These comments came on the heels of confirmation that Wheatley will be leading the VIP into the upcoming General Election and vying to be an elected Premier.
