In a recent statement, the BVI Christian Council denounced recent crime and gun violence.
The statement read, “We are saddened to learn that, yet another young man has succumbed to an untimely death due
to gun violence. We offer up our prayers to God for the family and friends of the victim.
The BVI Christian Council once again wishes to state that we vehemently oppose all forms of criminal activity and violence. As a Christan community let us continue to pray that the
perpetrator(s) of this horrific act will come to the saving knowledge of God and repent and ask We pray for everyone who is involved in crime of one form or another. We pray that by God’s
grace everyone will work together to restore peace, calm and tranquility in these Islands. We hold the Government of the Virgin Islands in our prayers and pray for wisdom in dealing with
the fight against crime. We continue to pray for families, who are still struggling with the loss of loved ones and for the perpetrators of crime, so that they will be brought to justice and come to know our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
