Virgin Gordian Ms. Esme Wheatley passed away today February 14th, 2023 at the Nurse Iris O’neal Clinic on Virgin Gorda at the age of 93.
Ms. Wheatley was born on March 3rd, 1929 and was the mother of 9th District Representative Hon. Vincent Wheatley along with Verne, Albert, Ena Wheatley and Arlene Wheatley-Parsons.
In her earlier years Ms. Wheatley worked in St. Thomas USVI and was known among Virgin Gordians as a cook and was popular for making coconut oil for residents. She also worked at Little Dix Bay Resort prior to her retirement. She was an ardent Methodist who enjoyed worship.
