WOMEN AND MEN INVITED TO CONVO IN THE TROPIX

Uterine fibroids, gynecological cancer, uterine prolapse, abnormal bleeding, endometriosis, endometrial hyperplasia, adenomyosis, and severe pelvic inflammatory disease. These are just a few reasons women must make the tough decision to have a hysterectomy.

Women and men are invited to come out on 18 February and to have a CONVO IN THE TROPIX titled LET’S TALK HYSTERECTOMY. This is an initiative of Mrs. Globe British Virgin Islands 2022 Dr. Arliene T. Penn, spokeswoman for the WINBVI (Women in Need) organisation.

The conversation takes place from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Mooring Conference Room. Tickets are $40.00, and funds raised go towards helping women in need throughout the community.

Ever since she shared her testimony, her Know. Fix. Live. WIN platform and experience with cervical cancer, both women and men have been calling and asking questions about hysterectomies—the effects of women losing their wombs.

According to Dr. Penn, “There was a time when I was ashamed of talking about reproductive health because of society’s perspective and stigma around the conversation. But, you know what? We must start talking more and stop being afraid of realities that are affecting many lives. Gone are those days! When we have experiences that can help others, we must share them.”

She added that too many people are unnecessarily suffering in silence because we focus too much on the negative things that others may say. It’s time for us to have the conversation and I am having it because there are women who need to be reminded that having a hysterectomy is not the end of the world. They can enjoy an abundant life as long as they understand that despite imperfections, they lack nothing.

You do not have to be a person with a hysterectomy, you just need to be interested in learning more about reproductive health, and we will do so in one location.
