The Governor’s Gourmet Gathering, a highly anticipated fundraising event on the calendar of the Virgin Islands Search and Rescue (VISAR) was held on Friday February 10th.
The event invited members of the public to join the Governor at his official residence, alongside representatives of VISAR, for a night of culinary experiences, compliments over a dozen local restaurants and businesses who came together to support the effort.
Guests were welcomed by their host for the night Deputy Governor David Archer Jr., who highlighted the need to support VISAR.
284 Media caught up with VISAR Operations Manager Phil Aspinal that night as he celebrated the return of the event.
Aspinal said that from all accounts the event appeared to be a hit with contributors and patrons alike.
Some of the restaurants present that night, Aspinal said, shared a special bond with VISAR as they are only accessible by water.
Immediately following that night VISAR set all eyes on preparing for its next event in Virgin Gorda.
