Despite being open for business as of February 13th, the Road Town Market Square Project is not yet completed.
According to Minister for Communications and Works Hon. Kye Rymer, the Government of the Virgin Islands anticipates that the total cost of the project will be $1.7 Million. Meaning that an estimated $400,000 investment will be required to complete the facility which has already cost over $1.3 Million.
Investment into the project, he said, has already spanned 4 budget cycles.
He revealed that the two main outstanding works to be done are the construction of a bus shelter and the installation of hurricane rated shutters.
While Rymer did not provide a specific timeline for when these final areas will be addressed, he did indicate that contractors are seeking to complete the bus shelter in short order.
