SEVEN SEAS WATER GROUP AWARDS BVI STUDENTS IN CELEBRATION OF WORLD WATER DAY 2023

Seven Seas Water (BVI) Seven Seas congratulates the Ministry of Education on the success of the recent National Science Fair where students from around the Territory competed in a S.T.E.A.M. Extravaganza: Innovate, Create & Solve! 

In honor of World Water Day 2023, Seven Seas said they were proud to acknowledge the following recipients of the Seven Seas Prize for Water Science:

• Secondary Division: Niajah Vanterpool, Homemade Hydroelectric Generator, Claudia Creque Educational Institute. School Prize $1,000; Student Prize $250 Gift Certificate

• Primary Division: Khymari Davis, Climate Change and the Water Cycle Francis Lettsome Primary School. School Prize, $500; Student Prize $150 Gift Certificate

In an official statement Noni Georges, Managing Director of Seven Seas BVI said, “We wish to congratulate the winners, their parents, teachers and schools, the Ministry of Education, the BVI National Commission for UNESCO, fellow sponsors, the organizing committee under the chairmanship of Education Officer, Ms. Renee Weston, and all participants in the 2023 National Science Fair.”

Additionally, Deputy Plant Manager of Seven Seas, Kevon Smith said, “As a major sponsor of the event, we were satisfied to see a number of water science entries and even a few wastewater entries and we look forward to supporting this competition for years to come.”

“Water resources, water and wastewater science and technology make all aspects of home, business, and school in the Virgin Islands possible.”

Smith added, “Having been a past national science-fair competitor myself, we are keenly aware that our future plant managers, engineers, operators and professionals are among this and following years’ competitors. Congratulations to all of the participants and the wonderful presentations and water filtration projects that were submitted. We will be watching this category for further development. After all, desalination is the application of advanced filtration technology.”
