At least one major airline is set to commence regional flights to and from the BVI from August 2023.
This was confirmed by the Managing Director of the BVI Airports Authority Mr. Kurt Menal in a recent interview with 284Media.
While not being able to disclose the name of the airline at the time, Mr. Menal said an Airlift Committee which was established through the BVI Tourist Board has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to increase airlift in the territory.
The airport’s boss also sought to provide greater clarity into the initiative, making it clear that the airline is an already established international airline and not one that will be solely based or registered to the territory.
Menal also spoke on the mandate of the Airlift Committee which he said is also working with other regional carriers to increase airlift to the BVI.
