Eighth District candidate Allen Wheatley believes that much more needs to be done for top local junior athlete Adaejah Hodge.
Hodge, who continues to write her name in the history books both internationally and in the BVI, recently set a new standard in the World Under 18 and Under 20 women’s 200-meter event after storming to victory in a record time of 22.33 seconds.
Speaking at the launch of his election campaign in his district on Thursday, Wheatley called on the government to provide Adaejah with a national scholarship to ease some of her financial burdens.
As a former athlete himself, Wheatley stressed on the importance of ensuring that Adaejah is properly maintained throughout her athletic career, to give her the best opportunity at achieving continued excellence.
