PLANS AFOOT TO RECTIFY HORRIBLE ROADWAYS ONCE ELECTED – SAYS PVIM & NDP

The Public Works Department is in need of an overhaul if the territory’s road infrastructure is to undergo a complete transformation.

This is the plan shared by At-Large Candidate Shaina Smith-Archer who is contesting the upcoming general election under the Progressive Virgin Islands Movement party.

She said during a recent campaign rally within the Third District that if elected she has a five-year plan that would completely transform the roads across the territory.

Smith-Archer said her plan will include the implementation of district maintenance crews to ensure that the roads, once completed, are kept in a good condition.

Also speaking on a national strategy for road repairs in the territory was Chairman of the National Democratic Party (NDP) and incumbent Eight District candidate Hon. Marlon Penn.

Penn was speaking at a NDP rally on Virgin Gorda on Wednesday, where he lauded the previous Chairman and Premier of the Virgin Islands Dr. D Orlando Smith for the work done on the roads across the territory during his tenure as an elected government.
