District 1 candidate under the Progressive Virgin Islands Movement party Sylvia Moses has promised to investigate the Solid Waste Disposal Plant at Pockwood Pond within the first three months of taking office if elected.
Moses made the promise during a recent campaign launch within her district, stating that if elected, resolving the long-standing Pockwood Pond incinerator and scrubber issue would be one of her main priorities.
Moses also spoke about the negative impact that the open burning has had within her district, resulting in a number of respiratory illnesses and deaths.
