Chairman of Progressives United Hon. Julian Fraser is calling for his Third District Virgin Islands Party opponent Kevin “OJ” Smith to be forthcoming with all the advice he provided the former premier up until his arrest in Florida.
Smith was the political advisor to the former Premier Andrew Fahie who was arrested on April 28 on charges of conspiracy to import a controlled substance, conspiracy to engage in money laundering, and attempted money laundering.
Fahie was subsequently slapped with an additional charge ‘Interstate and Foreign Travel in Aid of Racketeering.
Speaking during his recent campaign launch in the Third District, Fraser called on everyone who was involved with the former premier up until his arrest, to provide answers to the people before the day of the election.
Fraser also said members of the VIP party continue to conveniently pretend as though the events of April 28 never happened, labelling such an action disingenuous.
Fraser, who is vying for his seventh consecutive term in office, said that ever since Fahie’s arrest, the territory has been placed in a straitjacket by the United Kingdom.
