PREMIER: AG ADVISED AGAINST REPEAL OF GREEDY BILL

The recalled House of Assembly will not seek to repeal the “Greedy Bill” on advice of the Attorney General.

That was revealed by Premier Dr the Honourable Natalio Wheatley on Tola Radio this week as he answered calls to have the bill repealed ahead of the 24 April General Election.

Wheatley said that his queries into the matter have been met with opposition of the Attorney General’s Office.

Wheatley further stated that the Attorney General’s position is mainly based on a view that such a matter should not be done in a haphazard manner.

He noted that at this time the AG’s Chambers is working on a number of significant issues and has rightfully advised against adding this matter to its workload at this time over fear of this resulting in mistakes in the process.
