EFFORTS ONGOING TO RESTORE WATER SUPPLY TO ROADTOWN AND SURROUNDING AREAS

Weekend power outages and a major leak discovered en route to Road Town has resulted in interruptions to the water supply for residents along the Blackburn Highway from Baugher’s Bay to Paraquita Bay and parts of Road Town.

This was revealed in a statement from the Water and Sewerage Department on Monday, featuring Acting Director of the Water and Sewerage Department, Mr. Brian Davis.

Davis assured residents that efforts are being made to restore their water supply.

He explained that power outages experienced on Saturday April 29 and Sunday April 30th had placed limitations on the production capacity of water.

Davis further explained that, in addition, a major leak has developed en route to Road Town and has further delayed the restoration of water supply to Road Town and surrounding areas.

As of Monday May 1st, operators are said to be assessing the situation in an effort to restore supply.

The Department has promised to continue to issue updates as restoration efforts progress.
