The Gumbs twin Djimon and Diamante both showed out at the recently concluded Southland Conference outdoor championships in Texas, United States, dominating a number of field events.
Djimon won a trio of medals that earned him the Southland Conference Male Outstanding Performer Award.
In the shot put, he took the gold with his second throw, tossing a distance of 17.91 meters. In the discus throw, he collected a silver, throwing 54.8 meters, a distance that was bettered by Diamante who won the event with a throw of 59.16 meters.
Djimon rounded off his medal tally with a bronze in the javelin throw, achieving a personal best distance of 57.85 meters.
In addition to Diamante’s gold medal performance in the discus throw, he returned in the hammer throw with a career-best and new national record of 54.86 meters, placing fifth in the event.
