Local sports journalist and former national athlete Dean “The Sportsman” Greenaway has once again created history for the BVI after becoming the first athlete from the territory to be inducted into the Pasadena City College (PCC) Hall of Fame.
Greenaway was inducted along with his 1978 track and field team for their achievements back in the 1970s which included gaining the college its first California State Championship in addition to a Metro Conference Southern California Championship title.
Speaking to 284 Media in an interview on Monday, Greenaway said he never saw it coming but was overwhelmed to be honoured by his former college.
Greenaway also reflected back to when he first got the news that he was going to be inducted into the college’s hall of fame.
As the first BVI athlete to gain a scholarship to attend a university abroad, Greenaway spoke on his initial experience at Pasadena.
