THE ORDER IN COUNCIL WAS NOT DISCUSSED AT JMC – GOVT DEDICATED TO MAKING PROGRESS IN COI RECOMMENDATIONS

Premier Dr. the Hon. Natalio Wheatley has revealed that discussions relating to the removal of the Order in Council which remains intact over the territory, did not occur during the recently concluded Joint Ministerial Council meetings in London.

Premier Wheatley explained why the matter was not brought to the forefront of discussions.

He said the United Kingdom had recently made it clear on their position to first see more progress being made by the BVI Government on the implementation of the Commission of Inquiry (COI) recommendations, before deciding further on the matter.

Premier Wheatley also reaffirmed his commitment to implementing the COI Report recommendations.
