SOFTBALL ACTION CONTINUED THIS WEEK IN BOTH THE INDUSTRIAL AND NATIONAL FASTPITCH LEAGUES

Softball action continued this week in both the 2023 Terrence “Chinno” Chinnery Industrial Softball League and National Fastpitch League.

In games played on Wednesday, May 31, in the industrial league, Republic Bank Thunders defeated Road Town Wholesale Blazers 12-2, while the Financial Services Commission Regulators edged Town and Country Planning Sandflies 3-2.

Another very close game, the first on the day, saw Harneys Hittas handing the Tourist Board Pillars their first defeat of the season.

With 2 runners on base and a 1-1 call at the plate, Travis Vanterpool scored the winning run to give the Harneys Hittas a 4-3 victory.

Meanwhile in the women’s division of the National FastPitch League on Tuesday, May 30, Sparks lost by 1 run against the undefeated reigning champions Synergy.

In the final inning, with 2 runners left on base, Javlyn Frett stroked a walk-off single against Sparks pitcher Shaika Jeffers to end the game 17-16 in favour of Synergy.

A previous game played last weekend between Sparks and Problems saw Sparks taking the win scoring 8 runs to Problems 6.

In the men’s division of the national league on Wednesday, Pirates slaughtered Albion Hot Shots 21-1 with Nikos Penn on the mound defeating the Albion Hot Shots by 20 runs.

Previous games last weekend also saw Power Outage defeating Pirates 11-9, Albion Hot Shots beating No Fear Crushers 13-10 and VG Heat thrashing West Mobsters 16-0.

Games will continue in the National FastPitch League this weekend.

On Friday, June 2, Storm will face VG Heat at 7:30 p.m.

On Saturday, June 3, Problems will face Synergy at 6:00 p.m. while at 8:00 p.m. No Fear Crushers will take on Pirates.

On Sunday, June 4, Sparks will face West End Warriors at 5:00 p.m. and at 7:00 p.m. Albion Hot Shots go head to head against West Mobsters.
