On Tuesday June 6th, 2023 at the Eileen L. Parsons Auditorium at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College Campus, in Paraquita Bay, Naomi Onwufuju of Elmore Stoutt High School was awarded the 2023 Junior Ambassador of Tourism title.
Onwufuju won after competing for the title amongst others schools. Shania Kanhai of Bregado Flax Educational Centre was second place winner and Valentin Zahrebelny of Ciboney Centre for Excellence placed third.
Apart of the competition guidelines students were required to choose from three topical questions related to Tourism and give a prepared speech presentation. Additionally, they were presented with five mystery question and selected one to answer how they would address the issue.
The event was sponsored by the BVITB and Film Commission and CCT.
Present at the event was Junior Minister for Tourism and Culture Hon Luce D. Hodge-Smith who delivered remarks congratulating the students.
Minister for Health and Social Development Hon. Vincent O. Wheatley was also in attendance.
The 2022 Junior Ambassador of Tourism Desha Skelton also delivered remarks chronicling her year as Junior Ambassador of Tourism.
