NATIONAL POPULATION & HOUSING CENSUS TO BEGIN TODAY – CONFIDENTIALITY ASSURED

The National Population and Housing Census is set to commence in the British Virgin Islands today, Thursday, June 15 and residents are being assured that their information will be upheld in the strictest levels of confidentiality which will be maintained throughout the process.

This assurance came from the Deputy Premier and Minister for Financial Services, Labour and Trade Hon. Lorna Smith during a recent speech.

While acknowledging that residents are generally reluctant to share personal information the minister stressed the need for residents to be honest while completing the census.

The deputy premier also urged residents to participate in the activity, considering the level of importance of the role it plays.

Minister Smith highlighted the importance of the data that will be collected.

She also spoke on some of the areas that will benefit from the information gathered once the data is assessed.
