The Ministry of Education has announced an initiative entitled Let’s Teach VI which is geared towards addressing the alarming number of teacher vacancies that exist in the territory.
Minister for Education Hon. Sharie De Castro made the announcement while appearing as a guest on the Government Information Services (GIS) Public Eye series recently.
De Castro said the programme will target recent college graduates as well persons who recently acquired their associate’s or bachelor’s degree.
The minister also provided more insight into the programme, stating that there are mechanisms in place to make the transition as smooth as possible.
De Castro said her ministry is also working on reviving a passion for teaching amongst the youth, a goal that she believes is achievable.
