177 GRADUATE ELMORE STOUTT HIGH SCHOOL; GRADS PRAISED FOR RESILIENCE

The perseverance and resilience of the Elmore Stoutt High School class of 2023 were celebrated during a momentous graduation ceremony held at the Multipurpose Sports Complex in Road Town this week.

Salutatorian Desarie Maynard marked the occasion as a celebration for the graduating class. 

Several dignified speakers applauded the graduates for their unwavering spirit in the face of numerous challenges, including natural disasters and the COVID-19 Pandemic. 

Premier Dr the Honourable Natalio Wheatley shared a moment of reflection with the graduates as he noted those challenges.

Minister deCastro addressed the graduating class, acknowledging the extraordinary resilience they had demonstrated throughout their high school journey.

Principal Vanessa Garroway echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the arduous path the students had travelled to reach graduation.

Garroway also acknowledged the crucial role played by parents in supporting their children and ensuring their success.

During the ceremony, Principal Garroway paid tribute to Ms Kirima Forbes, a beloved educator who had recently passed away. 

Valedictorian Aneya Meade commended her fellow graduates for their resilience in overcoming unprecedented challenges and urged her peers to go forth and demonstrate their capabilities, leaving an indelible mark on society.

Among the 177 graduates that day, 81 achieved high honours.  Additionally, 8 graduates were ranked among the top 10 in the Territory.
