In his second appearance for the Los Angeles Lakers basketball franchise, BVIslander D’Moi Hodge bettered his previous performance but on another losing note, as his team fell to the San Antonio Spurs 109-99 in the California Classic Summer League at Golden 1 Center on Wednesday.
Hodge played an estimated 19 minutes of the game and ended with 8 points, converting 50 percent from the three-point range, netting 2 of 4.
The game witnessed 8 ties and 14 lead changes, but the Spurs maintained the lead throughout the closing 15 minutes of the game.
For the Lakers, Max Christie compiled 25 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists; Colin Castleton 18 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocks; Cole Swider 18 points and 7 boards; while Jalen Hood-Schifino totaled 20 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists.
The Spurs were led by Malaki Branham, who had a game-high 32 points and 5 rebounds.
D’Moi will now channel his attention to the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas with his first game against the Golden State Warriors on Friday, July 7.
