Tragedy struck on Saturday, July 8th, as a trailer office belonging to the Water and Sewerage Department, located in Baughers Bay, Tortola, caught fire.
The incident has caused significant damage to the structure.
Images seen by our newsdesk show plumes of thick smoke billowing from the structure as officers of the Virgin Islands Fire and Rescue Service responded to combat the flames.
The true extent of the damage caused by the fire and the impact on the department’s operations are yet to be determined.
At this stage, the cause of the fire is unknown.
