6.6 MAGNITUDE EARTHQUAKE FELT IN THE BVI – NO TSUNAMI WARNINGS

The Puerto Rico Seismic Network has confirmed that an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.6 was felt in the territory.

According to their publication, the earthquake occurred around 4:48 p.m. Monday, with an estimated maximum intensity of 5.

“The epicenter of this earthquake was at Latitude: 20.1 North and Longitude: 61.1 West at a depth of 10 kilometers,” the entity stated.

The network also confirmed that no tsunami warnings have been placed over the Virgin Islands following the natural phenomena.
