Works to the West End Ferry Terminal project could likely commence before the end 2023.
This is according to the Junior Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries and First District Representative Dr. the Hon Karl Dawson.
During a recent interview on local radio show Talking Points, Dr. Dawson revealed that the groundbreaking for the project is likely to occur in the final quarter of 2023 or early 2024.
Dr. Dawson said the current temporary ferry terminal is not to the level that the BVI would have been accustomed to adding that it doesn’t provide travelers with the convenience and ease when utilizing the service from West End.
Dawson also addressed the design of the new terminal, stating that it is being finalized following the feedback received from the public.
As it relates to his main concern of the project, Dr. Dawson said it is the functionality of the completed facility, as it needs to reflect the quality of stay in the territory for visitors.
