Kyron McMaster, Adaejah Hodge and Rikkoi Brathwaite are set to represent the territory in the upcoming World Athletic Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
The championships commence from August 19 and will run until August 27.
McMaster will compete in the 400-meter-hurdles on August 20, an event in which he is currently ranked number four in the world with a season’s best time of 47.26 seconds.
At the 2019 World Athletic Championships in Qatar, McMaster placed 4th in the finals, narrowly missing a podium finish running a season’s best of 48.10 seconds.
Brathwaite will participate in the 100-meter-event on August 19, while Hodge will conclude the events for the BVI in the 200-meter sprint on August 23.
Accompanying the athletes is team coach Ralston Henry and physiotherapist Martin Wilson who previously served a similar role at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games.
An estimated 2000 athletes from across 200 nations are expected to be present at the championships, which is classified as the third largest event globally.
