BVIslanders Olympia Maduro Fahie and Darel Christopher Jr. represented the territory in the just concluded 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships which ended on Sunday in Glasgow, Scotland.
Maduro Fahie’s first event was the Women Elite Individual Time Trial on Thursday, August 10, where she finished 85th overall over the 36.2 kilometers, with a total time of 1 hour, 13 minutes, 11.63 seconds.
She then returned to compete in the Women Elite Road Race on Sunday as the 201st rider, but unfortunately was unable to finish the race.
Meanwhile, Christopher competed in the Men Elite Individual Time Trial last Friday, finishing 65th out of 78 riders.
He finished the 47.8 kilometer event in 1 hour, 12 minutes, 34.53 seconds.
