The 17-year-old Adaejah Hodge is through to the Women’s 200-Metre semi-finals at the 2023 World Athletic Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
Hodge finished fourth in heat 3 of the first round on Wednesday, with a time of 22.82 seconds.
Her race was won by the number one ranked Shericka Jackson of Jamaica who cruised to victory with a time of 22.51 seconds while Veronica Pereira of Singapore finished second, setting a new national record for her country with 22.57 seconds.
Jessika Gbai of Côte d’Ivoire rounded off the top three clocking 22.78 seconds.
Hodge will now place all of her attention to heat 2 of her semi-final race which is set to take place on Thursday.
Her heat will include the likes of St. Lucia’s Julien Alfred, Bahamian Anthonique Strachan and American Kayla White, who are ranked 5th, 6th and 8th respectively in the Women’s 200-Metre race.
That race is set to take place at 1:54 p.m. BVI time.
