The recently concluded 69th VI Emancipation Festival has been dubbed one of the best in recent history by Premier Dr the Honourable Natalio Wheatley who delivered an address on the event today.
According to the Premier, the Virgin Islands Festival and Fairs Committee under the leadership of appointed Chairman Dirk Walters and Deputy Chairman Birchfield Lettsome, completely exceeded expectations for this year’s event.
Wheatley further lauded the committee, highlighting its exceptional and responsible spending this year. He said that the committee was able to deliver a high-quality festival within budget.
He also shone a light specifically on the committee’s work to ensure that the culture of the Virgin Islands took centre stage throughout the festivities. He commended the committee for showcasing the rich heritage, talent and creativity of the people of the VI.
The Premier expressed his gratitude to all the sponsors, partners, volunteers and participants who contributed to the success of the festival. He also thanked the public for their support and cooperation during the events.
