The soon-to-be-commissioned asphalt plant consists of online technology that will keep the plant up-to-date with the proper maintenance required to ensure longevity.
Director of the Public Works Department, Jeremy Hodge, confirmed that the plant possesses next-level technology that will enable technicians from the manufacturing company the ability to monitor the plant’s activity from outside of the territory.
With the commissioning of the plant edging closer despite no official date from the department, Hodge took the time to thank all the stakeholders involved in the entire process.
The director also informed the public that technicians from abroad will be traveling to the BVI to educate the Public Works Department on more efficient techniques for operating the asphalt plant.
Not to be left out is the talent from within the BVI and Hodge said there will be opportunities made available for local workers and contractors through the Government’s RATED Programme.
