Kyron McMaster continued to display his excellent form on Thursday, handing the world number 1 ranked Karsten Warholm an upset to win at the Zurich Diamond League.
Running out of lane 6, McMaster who is ranked third in the men’s 400-metre hurdles, stormed to victory, edging Warholm at the finish line in photo finish to win in 47.27 seconds.
His impressive time bettered Warholm’s 47.30 seconds, stunning the Norwegian who came into the race as the clear favourite, after winning the recently concluded World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
The world number 2 ranked Alison Dos Santos of Brazil placed third, clocking 47.62 seconds.
