AIRCRAFT ERUPTED IN FLAMES AFTER UNAUTHORIZED LANDING ON ANEGADA

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force have confirmed the unauthorized landing of an aircraft at the Auguste George Airport on Anegada on Wednesday.

According to a statement by the police, the incident occurred “in the early hours of the morning” and is actively being investigated by the authorities.

Prior to the confirmation from the police, reports circulated across the territory of an airplane crash on the sister island.

However, police confirmed that the plane landed safely but erupted in flames shortly after.

“Shortly after landing, a fire of unknown origin engulfed the aircraft. The blaze was extinguished by fire officers who are based at the airport,” the RVIPF stated.

The law enforcers are asking anyone who has any information relating to the incident to call their Intelligence Unit at 284-368-9339.
