Former Speaker of the House of Assembly, Julian Willock, and Kishma P. Forbes of the Virgin Islands School and Office Supplies recently donated over one thousand dollars’ worth of items to the Ebenezer Thomas Primary School in Sea Cows Bay.
Willock revealed that the initiative was a joint effort that involved three main sponsors from within the private sector, namely, Smith Gore – BVI Real Estate; the Skelton Group of Companies; and Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina.
The items included power fans, a glue gun with glue sticks, a laminating machine and a variety of snacks.
Willock also acknowledged others in the community who continue to make donations to the primary school.
The Director of Business Development for Scrub Island, Ms. Sandra Grisham, expressed that she was happy to be a part of the initiative.
She also encouraged the students to remain focused as he highlighted the importance of education.
Meanwhile, Principal of the Ebenezer Thomas Primary School, Ms. Ashkisha Maduro noted that she was excited about the partnership and thanked all involved in the donation.
Willock also challenged the school to be a part of District Three festival troupe for the 70th anniversary of the Emancipation celebrations in 2024.
He said he wanted to see a children and an adult portion from District Three making up the troupe.
